Addressing the changing needs of growing teens
CONTENT DESIGN
Each age range requires different features and guardrails for safe, enriching experiences.
For key stages in the account lifecycle, I craft content to check with kids if the supervision they’re using is right for them.
I design comms to keep parents in the loop on these decisions and encourage family-wide discussions.
I collaborated with other UX writers to design emails that notify parents before and after the child decides to update their account.
And when kids turn 18, I check in with them to see if the supervision features they’re using are still the best settings for their account, and what changes if they decide to update:
The impact:
These experiences enable Google to grow with users from the creation of their first account and into their adulthoods
YouTube, Wallet, and other Google partners are beginning to integrate these experiences into their account lifecycles. Our teams are collaborating on ways to add to this flow for seamless transitions
